December 24th, 2011 at 13:55An airline is airline, right? Each one is about the same, they have planes, with seats that tend to be not the most comfortable. Often times people purchase tickets based on price alone. So how do airlines diferentiate themselves from one another and secure paying customers?
There are several ways for an airline to stick out. Add amenities such as wi-fi or satellite TV at each seat. Provide unparalleled customer service as too often the customer service received is lack-luster. Or just provide a really cool customer experience.
In my experience Virgin American has differentiated themselves from the pack in several of these areas. And while they apparently have been having a rough go at it recently with a new reservation system gone wild, this recent YouTube video I feel is a really fun and unique way to market themselves with a little help from their friends at Banana Republic.
